Giving Bread to Puppy's?

My mother watc hed my puppy for one day. She gave him a small piece of bread. By the way… about 15 years ago when I was a child and my family had a dog we sometimes feed him table food. My mom is from the country, thats just what they did at that time) Of course I asked her not to do that again, but my fiancee says that feeding a dog bread will give him worms. Is that true? can giving a dog bread truly harm him? If so, how?
Also, We plan on signing up our 11 week old puppy (and my fiancee and I) to Petco for their 6 week puppy training classes. Has anyone been through a Petco puppy class? Does it work/help? Is it worth the money? My puppy plays so much. Its hard to get him to pay attention to me when its just me. At 11 weeks does he really have the attention span to benifit from the class and pay attention in a room full of so many other dogs and people? Thanks in advance for your help

well first dogs are omnivorous so i dont think bread will do any harm

Feeding your dog won’t hurt him or give him worms! I’ve feed it to my dogs many times and it doesn’t hurt them one bit, I just wouldn’t suggest feeding them a large amount. Your dog should be fine, and the worms from bread thing is nonsense!

As for the petco puppy training classes- we don’t have a petco, only a petsmart, but it has the same kind of training center and classes. I’ve heard great reviews about it, so I would say to go give it a chance!

giving bread to puppies will only hurt them if they are Boston terriers and 11 weeks is to young unless they have a decent attention span

Once all dogs lived on table scraps, milk from the cow and whatever they could hunt.
My dogs eat bread and table scraps and are 100% healthy.
Why does your fiance think the dog can get worms from bread? Unless there is worm eggs in something then they won’t get worms.
Any puppy class can be good, mainly for socailisation purposes, and you both might learn something :)

It cannot give the puppy worms.

Certain breads can expand in the stomach and cause serious problems! I avoid bread altogether.
